At StormResQ, we are committed to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring you have complete control over your personal data. This page outlines how you can delete your StormResQ account and what happens to your data when you submit a deletion request.
1. How to Delete Your Account
You can initiate account deletion either directly inside the mobile app or web platform, or by submitting a request to our support team without needing to access the app.
Method A: Delete directly within the app (recommended)
- Open the StormResQ app on your mobile device (iOS or Android), or sign in to the StormResQ web app.
- Navigate to Account Settings, accessible via your profile icon in the navigation menu.
- Scroll down to the Delete Account section.
- Click or tap DELETE ACCOUNT.
- To prevent accidental deletion, type DELETE in the confirmation dialog and confirm.
- Your account will be immediately deleted and your personal data will be irreversibly scrubbed.
Method B: Request deletion via email (if the app is uninstalled)
If you have uninstalled the application or cannot access your account:
- Get in touch with us by filling out the Contact form.
- Use the subject line: Account Deletion Request.
- Include your registered email address or registered phone number.
- Our team will verify your identity and process the complete deletion of your account and personal data within 3 to 5 business days.
2. What data is deleted?
When your account deletion is processed:
- Personal identifiable information (PII): your name, email address and phone numbers are permanently scrubbed and anonymized across all our databases and authentication systems.
- Emergency contacts: any stored emergency contact names and phone numbers are immediately removed.
- Saved addresses and locations: any saved home addresses, evacuation destinations and live GPS coordinates are permanently deleted.
- Rescuer details (if applicable): capability tags, equipment lists and duty status records are disassociated and cleared.
- Security and push tokens: all active login sessions, API authorization tokens and mobile push notification identifiers (FCM) are permanently revoked and deleted.
3. What data is retained, and why?
- Disaster response and audit history: historical incident records, emergency dispatch logs and aggregated rescue statistics may be retained solely in an anonymized format, with all user identification stripped, to comply with state and federal emergency reporting requirements and public safety audit regulations.
- No marketing or contact information: no personal contact or marketing data is ever retained after account deletion.
